Someone who is kind, open-hearted, wants to make a change and be a listener.
I Am That Girl hosts weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 7 p. Each meeting focuses on a different conversation topic such as friendship, mental health and setting goals. The meetings turn the group of girls into an encouraging support system for each other, which then inspires a sense of self-pride.
Overturf described how being a part of IATG helped her in her journey of self-love and acceptance. I knew I wanted to be a part and help other powerful ladies. I realized that I had to love myself first so I could instill that in others.
I Am That Girl is a source of strength to help the girls achieve their goals and keep pushing on even in hard times. IATG is a resource to help ladies get through their toughest times. While IATG focuses mainly on women, it also welcomes men by hosting an event called Real Men Night where they invite male student-athletes to participate in their weekly meetings.
I Am That Girl is all about providing a safe space for people to create open and vulnerable relationships — where people can truly feel like themselves — and then accepting people for showing who they are.
